DEATH * BY * METH

This is dedicated to Travis Holappa who was kidnapped, tortured and murdered on July 25, 2004 in Northern Minnesota. This was all due to meth. I am Travis' mother and I wish to make this devastation turn into a better thing by educating and exposing the truth about meth, the dangers, and the deadly consequences it brings about to individuals and communities.

I want to do what I can to educate people about what is going on around the world with the meth problem. I want people to know about it BEFORE they even get the idea to want to try it. It is a dangerous drug and will ruin your life as well as all those who love you. I am on a mission on behalf of my only son, Travis.

Do home drug-testing kits help or hurt teens?

By Sarah Childress
Newsweek
April 10, 2006 issue - It took Mike Peterson three years to find out that his 15-year-old son had a drug problem. He'd noticed that the once-charming A and B student with a love of Superman paraphernalia had become angry and withdrawn, and was in danger of flunking out of school. But his son repeatedly denied using drugs. Finally, at home in St. Clair, Mo., Peterson turned to the Internet, where he found a site that sold home drug-testing kits for parents. He told his son he wasn't leaving the house until he turned over a urine sample. Peterson was stunned and hurt when his son tested positive for cocaine, marijuana and amphetamines. "He had a problem—a genuine problem," Peterson says. "Thank God we caught it before he hit rock bottom."

If I had it to do over again and I was educated on the drugs of this day, I would've tested Travis. If only I would've known the seriousness of this drug. I grew up in the 60-70's and the mindset was that drugs were not a big deal. Just something fun to do. I never knew about this drug. It has brought such irrevocable heartache to me and my family along with so many millions of others. Kim

Hi, My name is Eddie (Eddie@InstantDrugScreen.com)I work with parents all around the country; One of the most effective tools a parent can have in the prevention of drug abuse is at home drug testing kits; I say this because it is true. First it takes away the peer presure that teen's face if a teen knows that his/her parent will test they are more then likely not to experment with drugs. Second if their friends know that their parents test their friends they are more likely not to pressure them into trying drugs. Third it builds a trust between parent and child; It lets a child know that their parents love them that much that they will do whatever it takes to protect them. It's sad to say But the parents that I work with who have lost a child to overdose allways say if I only had know about home testing my child would still be here with me. So please parents do your self and your child a favor test them especially at the turning point of a child's life ages 13-14;When there entering into J.R. High that's the time when their most volnerable.
