This is dedicated to Travis Holappa who was kidnapped, tortured and murdered on July 25, 2004 in Northern Minnesota. This was all due to meth. I am Travis' mother and I wish to make this devastation turn into a better thing by educating and exposing the truth about meth, the dangers, and the deadly consequences it brings about to individuals and communities.
I want to do what I can to educate people about what is going on around the world with the meth problem. I want people to know about it BEFORE they even get the idea to want to try it. It is a dangerous drug and will ruin your life as well as all those who love you. I am on a mission on behalf of my only son, Travis.

I'm from Oregon and was actually online looking to apply as a foster parent. I know that this town is not just touched the truly sickened by meth. You see it every where you go, sadly it is part of everyday life. Personally I have gone from being and meth addict at the age of 18. That was years ago and still not something I share very openly with people. But your story reminds me of how horrible and disgusting people can be, I am truly so sorry for your loss. I look up to you for taking it into your own hands to teach others. If there is ever any information you need from Oregon or any help let me know I would love to.
I am from Virginia MN and I do believe the Meth problem has gotten better. I knew many people on the drug but they have all grown out of it now. I think in time, people learn the dangers (even if it is by experience). Time will tell.
Im a female from Illinois, and a recovering meth addict. I have been clean for nearly 5 yrs. I was arrested and charged with manufacturing in 2003, in the height of the meth problem here. Here's the deal. They tightened up laws on purchasing Sudafed, which you'd think would deter people from buying them. HOWEVER, instead, there are people running around showing photo ID's and signing their names to buy the pills. Stores are working in compliance with the police, and turning over these names. Anyone who knows whats up should know that they'll be coming for you next. You can't pharmacy hop anymore, and if you do you're already caught. Then, stiffer laws on sentences only means more convictions and more time to be served. In time, people may learn their lesson. But they say that "where there's a will, there's a way", and addicts have a lot of will. Wether its the will to stay clean, or the will to continue using. I applaud you for what you are doing here. I have been coming tot his site for a few years now, and it helps me to stay clean. Im sorry for your loss as well. Meth is the most devastating drug there is, in my opinion.
The Meth problem continues to grow in my community. I live in Placer County California and I just called the Sheriff tonight reporting suspicious fumes. The smell has almost knocked us over for a couple of hours for the past few nights. The Sheriff came by and he could smell it too an hour after the fact.
